Library’s Nechako Branch to open later this week

The Nechako Branch will reopen on Wednesday, July 22 and will include limited browsing, limited access to computers and internet, and holds pickup service. Hours of operation at Nechako Branch will be: Monday – Thursday from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm, and Friday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. The branch will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Things will visibly be different at the Hart location as seating has been removed to encourage a quick visit to the library. Access to children’s computers and the multi-purpose room will be unavailable for now. The number of computer stations will be reduced to help support physical distancing and library staff are prohibited from handling patrons’ devices or personal items when providing technical assistance.

The re-opening date for the Bob Harkins Branch has not been set as of yet. Currently, the Bob Harkins Branch is undergoing construction and must reach a certain point in completion before the library can reopen in the city’s downtown.

The library continues to offer between 10 to 15 virtual programs each week, reference and customer service via phone and email, as well as digital collections and databases.
