Nov 4, 2020 | 12:44 PM

TERRACE—RCMP in Terrace launched their Online Crime Reporting tool earlier this year, and now it is expanding.

The tool is an attempt at helping RCMP better allocate resources and capture information that may otherwise go unreported.

The Online Crime Reporting Tool is expanding to allow reports for the following:

  • Driving complaints
  • Stolen license plates or decals

Also included (but not new to the service):

  • Damage/Mischief to property where the value is under; $5000
  • Hit & run to property or an unoccupied vehicle;
  • Theft of a bicycle where the value is under $5000;
  • Theft of other property where the value is under $5000;
  • Theft from a vehicle where the value is under $5000;
  • Lost property;

RCMP remind the public that if you are using the online reporting tool an online report requires you to use your real name and a valid e-mail address; there mustn’t be any witnesses or suspects; follow-up by an officer must not be required; reports must no involve personal identification or firearms; the user must agree to the terms and conditions of use.

“With your help police may better use what resources it has to better serve our community,” reads a release by Terrace RCMP. To start reporting click here.
