UNBC becomes first Canadian university to reveal Indigenous logo and jerseys
PRINCE GEORGE – It was a project many years in the making. Today, after a long process of collaboration, consultation, and passion, the University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves became the first college or university athletic program in Canada to unveil an alternate logo and jersey designed completely by an Indigenous artist.
UNBC Director of Athletics & Recreation, Loralyn Murdoch welcomed dignitaries, UNBC supporters, and Timberwolves athletes to Masich Place Stadium this morning to unveil the new look, designed by Gitxsan artist Trevor Angus. The immediate response has been overwhelmingly positive.
