Myatovic family all set to support at Memorial Cup

PRINCE GEORGE- The Memorial Cup starts this weekend in Kamloops, and while the Cougars aren’t involved, Prince George still has something to root for.

Nico Myatovic was born and raised in Prince George, playing almost his entire career in the northern capital. Now he is playing a key role on a star-studded Seattle Thunderbirds roster.

That five-and-a-half-hour drive down Highway 97 is the final stretch in what has been a crazy season for the Myatovics.

Nico’s mother, Karen Myatovic will be one of the many friends and family packed into the Sandman Centre Saturday afternoon when the Thunderbirds open their tournament against the OHL Champions, the Peterborough Petes. She says that she has quite a few gameday rituals as well.
