Exploration Place free for wildfire evacuees
PRINCE GEORGE – The Exploration Place announced its open for free for all wildfire evacuees staying in Prince George.
“We know it’s a really difficult time, especially for evacuees that are having to flee their communities. There’s a lot of distress, there’s a lot of stress and anxiety that comes along with that. We’re just hoping that we can provide them with a little bit of relief, a little bit of distraction, just something to make them get through their day a little bit easier,” said Exploration Place’s Executive Director Alyssa Leier.
Leier explained this was done in 2017 with the Williams Lake evacuees as well, and said it was very well received back then so bringing back free entry now was an easy choice.
“It just gave them that distraction so that they’re not thinking about constantly what’s happening at home, and we’re happy to be able to provide that for people,” Leier said.
