CN Centre sound system upgrade complete
PRINCE GEORGE—Last October, City Council approved $950,000 from the Northern Capital and Planning Reserve fund for a sound system upgrade at the CN Centre. Now the City of Prince George has announced the completion of the system under budget with final costs totaling approximately $700,000.
The work, was carried out over July to September after a 2019 assessment identified that the equipment from the 1990’s had exceeded it’s lifetime usage and was at a high risk of a system-wide failure. The projectt involved more than 900 hours of labour with Sapphire Sound and McSquared System Design Group.
Although Covid-19 delayed the replacement timeline of the system, the return to full capacity operations made the sound system upgrade a priority.
