PRINCE GEORGE— Last weekend, Riley Heidt passed former Victoria Cougar Mark Morrison to become the franchise’s all-time leader in assists with 236.

“It’s my fifth year now and a lot of good guys come through this organization and locker room. I’ve been given a good chance ever since day one. Credit goes to my teammates and coaches, but it’s super exciting to share that with my family,” said the Cougars Captain on his milestone.

The assist was part of a weekend sweep of the Rockets and Blazers on the road, as Prince George are now on a six-game point streak as they prepare to welcome the WHL’s top team this season, the Everett Silvertips.

“We’re feeling confident. We know that Everett’s going to throw a good game at us here this weekend because they’re at the top of the league…It’s big points for us and we’re looking forward to it,” said Heidt on this weekend’s matchup.

The Cougars currently sit in fourth place in the Western Conference, four points back of Victoria for the top spot in the B.C. Division with 17 games remaining in the regular season.
