Pineview Residents Demand Action Over Flawed Roadwork and Safety Concerns

May 23, 2025 | 10:18 AM

PRINCE GEORGE – Some residents of the Pineview area have expressed disappointment and concern regarding the roadwork in their subdivision. They are seeking action from the provincial government to address the issues with the surface seal coating applied to the streets last fall. CKPG News met with the citizens.

Residents of the Pineview area have come together to send a clear message to the Ministry of Transportation and Transit that the road work completed last year was flawed, resulting in unsafe conditions.

According to some residents, the ruts in the roads during winter can make driving down the rural roads unsafe.

CKPG News contacted the Ministry of Transportation and Transit and received a written response stating that.

“ Last year, the ministry improved the condition of several Pineview area roads by re-applying sealcoat, which extends road surface life and increases safety by enhancing traction and visibility, especially in wet and low-light conditions.

Additional surface repair work is planned on Pineview area sideroads for summer 2025.”

Residents are concerned that someone could be at risk of getting hurt if action isn’t taken soon.
