Campfire ban lifted for Cariboo Fire Centre
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — A campfire ban for the Cariboo Fire Centre was lifted four days earlier than expected.
The BC Wildfire Service says the prohibition was lifted at noon Friday (Sept. 26). The campfire ban for the Cariboo region was extended until Sept. 30 after an initial estimated rescission was set of Sept. 11.
In an update Friday, the wildfire service reminds residents that Category 2 and 3 open fires remain prohibited until Oct. 31, 2025, or until the order is rescinded.
