Spruce Kings allow three unanswered in loss to Okotoks

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings were looking for to secure a two win weekend, but fell to the Okotoks Oilers on Saturday night.

The Spruce Kings would actually strike first with Tai Ushio opening the scoring in the first. But the visitors would bury a pair of powerplay goals to take a 2-1 lead into the third period.

Matic Percic tied the contest early in the final frame, but three unanswered by the Oilers salt the contest away after the 10 minute mark of the period. Holden Pajor and Jamie Hikida scored less than a minute apart, and Pajor would add an empty netter for good measure as Okotoks won 5-2.

Colin Reay made 29 saves in the loss.
