PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars began a brief two-game U.S. road trip on a winning note.

Goaltender Joshua Ravensbergen stopped all 36 shots he faced as the Cougars shut out the Seattle Thunderbirds Friday (Oct. 17) 5-0.

Kooper Gizowski was the straw stirring the drink for the Cats, scoring a hat trick. He opened the scoring late in the first period after stripping a Thunderbirds player of the puck and firing a shot from the right circle. Gizowski opened the second period with a snap shot from the right circle on the power play.

The Cougars scored with two seconds remaining in the second period to carry momentum into the third with a 3-0 lead. Brock Souch poked in a rebound in the crease just in time.

Gizowski completed the hat trick with a wrist shot from the wrist circle. The Cats would add one more to secure the 5-0 win.

The Cougars improve to 6-2-0 on the 2025-26 Western Hockey League season, good for 12 points in eight games. They’re first in the B.C. Division and second in the Western Conference.

Next up is a stop in Kennewick for a game with the Tri-City Americans Saturday (Oct. 18) at 6:05 p.m.
