PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George fire crews were kept busy responding to two separate fires within just 30 minutes.

The first call came in shortly before 8:30 on the 5700 block of Oxford Drive, where firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a detached shop. Crews from two halls launched an offensive attack and brought the blaze under control. No one was injured, and the damage is estimated at $50,000.

Just 20 minutes later, three halls were dispatched to a structure fire in the 7700 block of Eastview Street. Thick smoke poured from a bedroom window as firefighters launched an interior attack, extinguishing the flames. All occupants had safely evacuated before crews arrived, and no injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $150,000, and both fires remain under investigation.
