PRINCE GEORGE – Following the arrest of a restaurant worker at the Twisted Cork Restaurant for alleged drug trafficking, the restaurant’s owner is speaking out on what he calls a “completely disheartening” situation.

“Obviously this has an impact on staff, the business. We’ve been trying for 16.5 years down here, nothing but trying, so when something like this comes up […] I don’t know if I’ve been more disappointed, it was a terrible shock to the system and something that I didn’t suspect. I didn’t know, obviously, that was going on, and it affects my staff, my family, my business. It’s devastating information, obviously,” said owner Troy McKenzie.

McKenzie says the 46-year-old employee connected with the charges has been dismissed, and while he doesn’t know many details surrounding the investigation, he says he and the restaurant are fully cooperating with the RCMP.

“Obviously the first concern was what has transpired. How did this happen? Who was involved? Those types of things. But, unfortunately, I don’t have any of this information. I’ve cooperated completely with the RCMP in regards to looking at what was going on, but any new information I don’t have yet, so I’m waiting like everybody else to find out what was going on,” McKenzie said.
