PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP seized seven firearms Sunday from a home on the 7100-block of Guelph Crescent (Nov.16).

Police were searching for drugs when they located the firearms. Of the seven firearms, one was prohibited. Mounties, along with assistance from the North District Emergency Response Team, also found evidence of drug trafficking.

“The removal of firearms out of the hands of those who are part of the criminal landscape represents a positive enhancement to public safety,” says Inspector Chris Riddle, Operations Officer of the Prince George RCMP. “Any time we can take illegally obtained firearms out of our community is a demonstration of our commitment to enhancing public safety.”

This investigation remains ongoing.
