Conservative MP Jamil Jivani says he had ‘productive’ meetings with White House
WASHINGTON — Conservative MP Jamil Jivani says he had “productive” meetings Wednesday with U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration.
Jivani said on social media that he met with the White House and state department. He said the president asked him to pass along a message — to tell Canadians he loves them.
“I’ll have much more to say later,” Jivani said. “More meetings with senators, (General Motors) and others this week.”
Jivani’s mission to Washington was met with some skepticism in Ottawa Wednesday after he said he wanted to help Prime Minister Mark Carney negotiate a trade deal with the United States.
