Northern Bus Services Covered
PRINCE GEORGE – While much of Western Canada is grappling with options once Greyhound drops its passenger service tomorrow, it will be just another day for Northern BC. That’s because, long before Greyhound applied to the BC Passenger Transportation Board to reduce services, much of it is rural and Northern BC, BC Transit launched bus service along the Highway of Tears.
“What I’ve heard from community members is how very friendly the bus is and that it’s like a little community in itself on the buses,” says Mary Teegee, Executive Director with Carrier Sekani Family Services.
She says the bus is so popular, BC Transit added more service.
Added to that, the Province launched BC Bus North this summer, which includes service to the Peace Country and east to Valemount.
