Update: Highway 16 West reopens east of Burns Lake

BURNS LAKE —Update: According to Drive BC, the downed power lines have been cleared and the road has reopened.

However motorists can still expect minor delays in the area.

Earlier: Motorists beware: downed power lines have closed Highway 16 in both directions 10 to 14 kilometres east of Burns Lake.

Drive BC says the downed lines are between Tintagel Road E and Stearns Subdivision Road for 3.7 kilometres.

No word yet on when the highway will reopen.
