WILLIAMS LAKE–If you see smoke in your area, maybe don’t be so quick to get alarmed

The BC wildfire service is planning a controlled pile burning project over the next eight weeks as part of an ongoing project to reduce wildfire risks in the area.

Firefighter crews have already piled up debris in two locations: Fox Mountain, the area of land covers 20.4 hectares north of the Fox Mountain subdivision, north of Gannet Road and Pheasant Drive. The second is on Airport Road and covers around three hectares of land south of the Williams Lake Regional Airport.
