New Fire Hall on time
PRINCE GEORGE – The new fire hall on Massey Drive will really start to take shape in the days and months to come. That’s because the last of the foundation work was done today and the above-ground work will get underway.
“So over the next few months, the structural steel goes up and that’s quite a sight to see,” explains Leland Hanson, Project Manager. “It goes up fairly quickly and you get a good sense of how large the building is.”
The building will be 21,500 square feet and will house not only the fire trucks but also the fire dispatch and the Emergency Operations Centre.
The $15 million structure replaces Fire Hall #1 downtown, which is no longer able to meet the structural demands of modern fire fighting.
