2019 Citizens of Year recognized Friday

It was a special evening for three Prince George residents on Friday.

In front of friends, family, and the other members of the community Albert Koehler, Chuck Chin, and Noreen Rustad were honoured as the 2019 Citizens of the Year.

The Prince George Community Foundation puts on the event and each year they receive a plethora of nominations when it comes to the award, and as a result, the process of deciding on just a less than a handful of winners is difficult.

“We do a call for nominations in the spring every year,” shared Director of Development with Community Foundation Mindy Stroet.

“We have a nominating committee who reviews all of the nominations. Gets more information on all of them and then they make recommendations to the board each year and then the board ratifies that decision and selects each year the Citizen of the Year.”
