PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George Mounties are investigating a drive-by shooting.

The shooting occurred overnight between last Thursday and Friday morning at the Royal LePage building on the 1600 block of Fourth Avenue.

Investigators were informed of the shooting by staff at the business Friday morning when employees began to arrive. Staff told police that the last employee left the building around 9 p.m., and the building was re-attended at 6 a.m. the following day. A truck unrelated to the business, which was parked outside of the building, was also struck by four bullets.

Investigators are asking that anyone in the area between 9:00 p.m. on January 16 and 6:00 a.m. on January 17 that may have witnessed anything unusual or would have dash camera or video surveillance, please contact an investigator by calling the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line at 250-561-3300.

“We understand that it can be traumatic for victims of violent crimes such as this to process what their next steps are, and we want to remind everyone that our Victim Services unit is available to support victims of crime throughout all stages of an investigation. The more participation victims or witnesses have in an investigation, the more information we can collect and put towards a fulsome analysis of what occurred,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The exact nature of this incident is still under investigation. Police officers ask the public to report anything unusual they see in their neighbourhood to the police.

The investigation remains ongoing.
