Spruce Kings commit new forward

PRINCE GEORGE— The Prince George Spruce Kings will have a new player next season as River Arnason joins the frontline.

Bron in 2008, Arnason is 5’9″ and 152-pounds. He spent his last three seasons playing for Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League.

With the U18 Prep team, the Winnipeg, Manitoba native earned 47 points, 23 goals and 24 assists, in 27 games this season. Last season while playing for the U17 Prep Team he made 14 goals and 27 assists for 41 points. In addition, Arnason made three goals and three assists in eight call-up games,

“River is a very dynamic player whose hockey IQ and offensive abilities are extraordinary,” says General Manager Mike Hawes. “We are thrilled that he chose our organization for his development.”

As for Arnasons thoughts on the matter, he says that he’s thrilled to join the Kings next season.

“I am eager to continue my development on and off the ice with an organization committed to the success of their players, team and community,” Arnason adds. “I am honoured to be committing to the Spruce Kings program and can’t wait to get started with the team.”

The Prince George Spruce Kings return to home ice on Wednesday, January 22, at 7:00 p.m. They’ll be hosting the Surrey Eagles.
