McLean seeking second term on School District 57 Board
PRINCE GEORGE — Incumbent School District 57 trustee Erica McLean is seeking reelection, saying the experience she gained during her first term has strengthened her commitment to public education and school governance.
McLean, who was elected in 2022, said the last four years have been a significant learning experience. A former educator, she entered the role with experience serving on community boards but limited exposure to the governance side of education.
“I’ve learned an incredible amount about governance over the last four years,” McLean said. “There were a lot of difficult conversations along the way, but I feel very proud of the record that we have with this current board.”
McLean said one of the achievements she is most proud of is the board’s focus on student learning and student voice throughout its term. She believes that emphasis has helped make the work happening in classrooms more visible to families and the broader community.
