Prince George Cougars defenceman, Dennis Cholowski, has been invited to Canada's World Junior Championship camp roster. Cholowski is among 32 players receiving an invite. The camp runs from December 12-15th in St. Catharines, Ontario.
There was a pretty funny moment in last night's Washington Capitals/San Jose Sharks game involving Prince George's Brett Connolly. After Connolly scored a goal in the third period, his teammate Evgeny Kuznetsov goes to give him a fist bump and, nope.
The Cougars have two players from Belarus on their roster this season, forwards Vladislav Mikhalchuk and Pavel Azhgirei. Both are living in Canada for the first time, and it's been a bit of an adjustment for the duo considering they barely spoke any English before moving here.
The Cariboo Cougars game on Saturday was extra special because it was the team's 8th annual Jameson Jones Night. Jameson is a local 14-year-old who has beaten brain cancer twice, and once a year the Cariboo Cougars raise money in his name to donate to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation.
The Cariboo Cougars have had an excellent first half of their season, and have been near the top of the BCMML standings all season long. This weekend they continued their winnings ways, as they welcomed the Okanagan Rockets to town.
